Issue #25
“The Community, Of the Land, and Winter Wails Issue”
It is a bit unnerving to think that we are nearing the end of the year. I am in shock, if I am being honest. Not only has 2026 been a big year for change here at Night Terror Magazine, it has also been one for pressing humanitarian issues globally and here in the States. But I want to inject some hope as it has also been a tremendous year of growth. In many ways, we are seeing a shift in the collective consciousness, and that shift has carried into horror media. We have gotten incredible films like Obsession and 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, books like Cynthia Pelayo's It Came from Neverland, Josh Malerman's Pictures of You, Liam Higginson's The Hill in the Dark Grove, and Electric Shamans at the Festival of the Sun, a blessing from Mónica Ojeda. The list goes on and on.
One of the things I love the most about horror is its ability to unpack the weight of reality and funnel the emotions that come with through art. That is a great and wonderful gift, is it not? I wholly believe that these mediums shift our perspectives and begin to knit together that collective consciousness into something that we can all experience as one. I think that is why horror keeps becoming more and more of a hot genre. It sparks conversation.
In this issue of Night Terror Magazine, we are honored to show you exactly what it looks like when voices collect and create. This is our first quarterly issue, and to see such thoughtful articles, essays, art, and stories come together into one magazine you can hold in your hand is surreal. Kelsee and I love this community, and we are excited to present you with Issue 25. From community to folklore, gift guides to short stories, our final release of 2026 shows just how influential horror has been this year.
Thank you for reading, and welcome to another issue of NIGHT TERROR MAGAZINE!
